Health Information Management Tech
Location: Clearwater, FL
– FULL TIME POSITION
This position is responsible for Health Information Management and front office support.
Primary Tasks: Health Information Management
- Accurately learns EMR system.
- Accurately enters all required information into EMR.
- Scans patient information/records into electronic chart and mark for review when required.
- Monitors e-fax and assigns to appropriate area/personnel.
- Communicates with physician/clinical staff regarding new patient and medical record needs
- Performs Request for Information (RFI) with proper consents to other health care providers, government agencies, etc. Follow-up as needed
- Performs Release of Information (ROI) documents with proper consents from other health care providers, government agencies, insurance companies, etc. Follow-up as needed
- Assists Medical Team with administrative tasks.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding patient/client and/or family in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
- Performs all other duties as required.
- Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of CAN Community Health.
Secondary Tasks:
- Act as back-up for Receptionist/Check-In and Check-Out when needed to fill in for breaks, lunch or vacations or multiple provider needs
- Performs all other duties as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Neat professional appearance, dress business casual unless otherwise instructed.
- Requires sitting for extended periods of time.
- Requires repeated walking, bending, stooping, reaching and moderate lifting
- Requires visual and auditory acuity.
Education/Professional:
High School or equivalency degree required
Valid Driver’s License
Experience:
Three years of office experience required. Minimum of one year in a medical office setting with medical records experience including both paper and electronic preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to be a self-starter.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to be highly organized.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
