Dr. Douglas Brust is a board-certified infectious disease specialist who has devoted his entire career to caring for people living with HIV. He completed his BA and PhD at Cornell University, received his MD from Columbia University and then trained in internal medicine at Harvard University. After residency, Dr Brust went on to the National Institutes of Health for his fellowship training in infectious disease. He has served on the faculty at Columbia University and currently is a Clinical Associate Professor for the FSU primary care residency program in Fort Myers. Dr Brust has published numerous scientific papers and has received multiple academic awards including Fulbright and Howard Hughes scholarships.
