Laura Armas-Kolostroubis MD, AAHIVS is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida (UF) and Co-Medical Director at the UF Center for HIV/AIDS, nurse Research, search Education & Service in Jacksonville, ampoule Florida. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Armas-Kolostroubis was a practicing Internist in the HIV Department of Parkland Health & Hospital System (PHHS), in Dallas, Texas, where she was also the Lead Physician for the HIV Women’s Specialty Center. She served as the Clinical Director of the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center in Dallas, Texas for over 8 years. She founded the inaugural Women & HIV Symposium over 9 years ago, and led its progressive development to the Women & HIV International Clinical Conference. She obtained her MD from LaSalle University in Mexico City in 1998 and completed her fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dallas, TX She is board certified in Internal Medicine and is certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Her research interests include women with HIV as well as continuing medical education.
